The Grant County Family Court Commissioner (FCC) conducts Temporary Hearings and serves as Director of Family Court Services (DFCS).

The office of the FCC/DFCS is a part-time, independently contracted position by Douglas J. Heenan of Scott & Heenan, LLC. Hours of availability may be limited.

The DFCS receives mediation referrals from a judge, a parent, or legal guardian when there is a disagreement involving legal custody [major decisions concerning children [§767.001(2m)], and/or physical placement [which home a child is physically placed [§767.001(5)].

 

Since the FCC is a judicial official under Wisconsin law, the FCC/DFCS may not provide legal advice, listen to, or discuss your disagreement with you outside of a court setting. Instead, a form to request mediation is available at wicourts.gov [form FA-4134V]. 

 

When preparing a Mediation Request Form, please include each parent's telephone number, email address, and the name(s) and birth date(s) of minor children.
