Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA)

The purpose of the Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA) is to enable an active duty service member to "stay" (delay) court proceedings involving divorce, child support, legal custody, and physical placement while the service member is on active duty. Generally, Wisconsin law primarily focuses on a service member's situation when he or she was not a member of the armed forces [§767.41(2)(e)2 and §767.451 (3m)]. Other rights of a service member may be found in Wisconsin's Service Members Civil Relief statute [§321.60-.68 and form GF-175]
